White King Hawthorn

As suggested by name, the winter king hawthorn can provide great landscape for cold winter days. It is a small sized deciduous tree which starting blooming in the late spring with its attractive white flowers. Its green leaves will turn into red in autumn, and bunches of small red fruits will be a great view in winter.

If you are planning to cultivate some winter king hawthorn trees in your garden, you need pick up an ideal place for them to grow. The prefer areas with full sunlight during the day and well-drained soil conditions. The can tolerate some partial shade environment as well. Although they prefer some slightly acidic soil types, they are total OK with some alkaline soil types too.

When digging the planting hole to hold the root ball, it should be big enough to accommodate the root ball, ideally twice the size of the root ball. The root ball should be kept moist at all times. When planting the trees into the hole, please make sure the tree are put straight and then cover the hole with soil.

During the first several weeks, you should apply adequate water for the new plants to help them establish their root system. Some mulch can be applied around the roots to help preserve the moisture and keep the root warm in winter. The fully grown tree can tolerate drought environment well because of its robust roots system underground.
