White Pomegranate

White Pomegranate

As a member of the pomegranate family, the white pomegranate has white parts compared with the traditional red parts of other varieties. It has white skin with white flesh inside. The taste of its seeds and juice is sweet and it is abundant with a bunch of vitamins and other nutrients. Many gardeners also choose white pomegranate plants as a part of the landscape in their gardens.

As other pomegranate varieties, the seeds and the aril are the edible parts of a white pomegranate fruit. The easiest way to separate the membrane with the aril is to submerge the fruit into the water and the aril will float on the water. The seeds and the aril can be taken directly as other fruits or be crushed for juice. They can also be dried for other cooking purposes.

The white pomegranate fruit has a sweet flavour which is different from the common sour flavour of other varieties. It is believed that the seeds or juice can lower the risk of heart diseases due to the vitamins and antioxidants contained in the seeds. It can also lower the risk of prostate cancer which affected many men in the world because of the antibacterial and antiviral properties.

White pomegranate trees need very little maintenance if certain conditions are satisfied. They can tolerate most soil types and they will bear fruits after several months of flowering. When storing your fruits in the case, most of these fruits can be stored for more than half a year if they are stored in cool space with adequate moisture.
