Trees With Blue Flowers
Although blue flowers are not very common in tree blossoms, there are still some attractive blue flowers produced by a variety of trees. Their colors vary from light sky blue to the dark purple color and increase the landscaping values for your backyard. Also, if you prefer a blue flowering tree in your garden, you can also choose the correct size to fit your yard ranging from a massive size tree to a small shrub.
Ceanothus thyrsiflorus is a native American tree which have blue blossoms in summer. Its flowers are formed in clusters and the color hue is ranging from light blue to white. They can reach as high as 6 meters and their growth rate is very high. They can survive in drought environment and it is a great choice if your home is located in a relatively drought area.
Jacaranda mimosifolia is another tree species which can generate beautiful blue flowers in summer. The blue hue is similar to lavender plants and they are formed in clusters as well. The height of Jacaranda can reach more than 10 meters and they are suitable for most zones.
Wild Lilac is a tree family in which many have attractive blue flowers in summer. Frosty blue is can reach 3 meters in height and they produce light blue blossoms. Some lilac tree species such as Dark Star will grow purple and dark blue flowers.
