Silver Lace Ferns

Silver Lace Ferns

Silver lace fern is a common household plant and it is often seen in offices or homes. It has attractive green grass-like leaves and an embedded sliver rib in the middle. It is a great desktop plant to provide some extra green color to your working area. It can make you relax your eyes once you are tired. They can tolerate dim environment with very little light around and this make it a good choice for your working environment at night.

The most important substance for the silver lace fern growth is the water. It prefers to grow in a humid environment and well-drained soil. You can use another container full of water and put the silver lace pot into that container. This can provide extra humid for the plant because the evaporation of the water will form some mist for the plant. It needs to grow in a temperature no lower than 20 degrees. Some water-soluble fertilizers can be applied occasionally to provide extra nutrients.

During daily maintenance, you should always keep an eyes on the water level to ensure that they container is not dried out. The drying speed of pot plants is much quicker than the soil plants. You should choose some glazed containers because they are not dried out quickly. Some mulching material can also be used to slow down the evaporation rate. Some common mulching materials are rocks, marbles, wood chips and so on.
