Fast Growing Apple Trees

Fast Growing Apple Trees

Among all fruit trees, apple trees can be considered as fast-growing trees and most apple tree species can grow more than 10 inches per year with optimal conditions. They grow rapidly in the first several years and you should provide adequate nutrients for them during this period. However, the growing speed of apple trees is not the same as well. Some trees will grow quicker than other species.

The red delicious apple tree is one of the quickest growing apple tree species. It is famous for its sweet red apples which are mature in autumn. It can grow up to 15 feet in height with a spread of more than 20 feet. You need to leave adequate space between two adjacent trees. Its growth rate can be about 15 inches per years under premium growing conditions.

The yellow delicious apple tree is another fast-growing tree species among apple trees. It has the same growth speed as the red delicious trees and they can reach more than 10 feet in height when mature. It should be planted in mild zones with well-drained soil conditions. This tree can grow about 15 inches per year as well.

The early harvest apple tree can be considered as the quickest growing apple trees, and the annual growth of this tree can be over 2 feet. They can reach more than 20 feet in height where mature with a similar spread. They will produce small tart apples during summer which is earlier than most apple trees’ harvest season.
