Evergreen Elm

Evergreen elm trees are commonly used landscaping trees in thousands of parks and gardens. They have all-year-long green foliage and they can tolerate some coarse environment compared with some native elm trees. They have a wonder crown and plenty of light-green leaves which increase the aesthetic value to the surrounding environment.

There are a variety of evergreen elm tree species around the world, and the Chinese elm tree is one of them. Known as lacebark elm, it is a fast-growing evergreen tree which has green oval leaves which are preferred by many gardeners. It can resist most diseases and pests which will infect other elm species. This makes it a great choice for landscaping purposes and decoration of gardens. However, some fungi diseases like Texas root rot disease can infect Chinese elm and you should pay some attention to them. Apart the original Chinese elm trees, there are a variety of other members of the Chinese elm family like the Drake variety.

Siberian Elm is another common elm species which are planted in thousands of gardens. It may be easily confused with other elm trees. It can resist some deadly fungi disease which may severely damage other elm trees like Dutch elm disease and phloem necrosis. It is also less harassed by common beetle pests on elm trees. However, this tree may also be infected by other insects and it is not as popular as Chinese elm trees.
